DUCKEYE™ is built to deliver value from the very first match you upload. This guide walks through the complete setup process - from creating your account to sharing your first analysis with your coaching staff.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Go to [duckeyeanalytics.com/contact](/contact) and start your 14-day free trial. No credit card required.

Once your account is confirmed, you'll receive login credentials by email within 5 minutes.

Tip: Use your school email address. It helps us verify your program affiliation and unlocks early access to coach referral benefits.

Step 2: Upload Your First Match

From your dashboard, click Upload New Video.

Supported formats: MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI

File size limit: Up to 2GB per upload

Recommended resolution: 1080p for best positional detection accuracy. 720p works well in most cases.

DUCKEYE™ processes a full 7-minute match in under 30 minutes. You'll receive an email notification when analysis is complete.

Best practice: Start with a recent match where you already have intuitions about what happened. This lets you validate the analysis against what you already know before applying it to opponent scouting.

Step 3: Review the Positional Timeline

The first thing you'll see after processing: a frame-by-frame positional timeline.

The timeline shows four position states:

  • Neutral - both wrestlers standing, no takedown secured
  • Top - your wrestler has control from top position
  • Bottom - your wrestler is in bottom position
  • Transition - movement between states

The percentages show how much of the match was spent in each state. This is your baseline.

  • Does the breakdown match your intuition from watching the match?
  • Are there long stretches in one position that surprised you?
  • Does the timeline reveal a pattern in when scoring happened?

Step 4: Read the Opponent Analysis

If you uploaded opponent footage, navigate to Opponent Report from the match view.

The report shows:

  • Position tendencies - where they spend most of their time
  • Scoring zones - which positions they score from most often
  • Setup sequences - the chains they run repeatedly
  • Vulnerabilities - positions where their success rate drops

Use this to build your game plan before your next competition against this opponent.

Step 5: Review Athlete Profiles

Each match automatically generates per-athlete statistics. Navigate to Athletes from the top navigation.

Click an athlete's profile to see:

  • Position-specific efficiency by period
  • Trend lines over multiple matches (once you've uploaded more footage)
  • Automatic recommendations based on below-average metrics

Tip: Share athlete profiles directly with athletes before practice. Showing an athlete their own data is more effective than telling them what to fix.

Step 6: Export and Share

From any match or report view, click Export to generate a PDF summary.

  • Positional timeline (visual)
  • Key statistics
  • Opponent tendency summary (if applicable)
  • Athlete-specific highlights

You can also share a direct link to any analysis - your assistant coaches and staff can view reports without logging in (read-only mode).

Tips for Getting the Most Out of DUCKEYE™

Upload multiple opponent matches. The pattern recognition improves significantly with 3+ matches. Upload every match you have on your next opponent before a major dual or tournament.

Be consistent with camera angle. DUCKEYE™ works across camera positions, but consistent angles produce cleaner timelines. If your program films from a consistent position, maintain that.

Review analysis with athletes. The visual timeline is intuitive. Show athletes their own positional data during film study - it creates immediate buy-in and focused conversation.

Set a weekly upload routine. Programs that upload every match see the most benefit. The data compounds. By mid-season, you'll have position baselines for every athlete on your roster.
